Celebrity Street Style of the Week: Jamie Chung, Whitney Port, & Rachel Bilson

Every week, I scour the web to find inspiring outfits on your favorite celebs and help you recreate their looks! This week, I was inspired by Jamie Chung, Whitney Port, and Rachel Bilson. Read on to see how you can get their looks for yourself.

Look 1: Jamie Chung’s Trendy, Vintage-Inspired Look

Actress Jamie Chung looked super trendy this week in a leather mini skirt, a filmy white top, and a copper-colored cardigan, worn with some leopard print pumps and a slouchy black leather bag.

I am loving how Jamie paired varying textures together; by wearing the nubby cardigan over the sleek leather skirt, she is mixing two totally different styles, with fabulous results. Her leopard print heels pull the colors of the outfit together, while her slouchy leather bag lends a “downtown chic” aesthetic to her outfit.

To get Jamie’s look, start with a leather or faux leather mini skirt. Skirts like these are awesome because they can either be worn the obvious way — the black leather and short length inspire super sexy looks — or, by adding an unexpected chunky cardigan, can be switched up for a downtown, vintage-inspired look. Add leopard print pumps and a simple bag for a look that’s young and fresh, with a perfect balance between sultry and trendy.

Look 2: Whitney Port’s Hip Androgynous Look

Whitney Port tried out a cool, slightly androgynous look this week — that is, a look that is not super feminine or super masculine. In slim-fitting jeans, a loose-fitting plaid shirt, and a leather moto jacket, Whitney looks uber hip yet dressed-down.

In fashion, it’s always fun to play with uber-casual, easy pieces, and Whitney’s outfit is an example of doing so in a very mild manner, since her handbag and scarf still create an accessorized look.

To get Whitney’s look, pair skinny jeans with a loose fitting, oversized plaid shirt. On top, wear a moto jacket and a chunky scarf – this mustard yellow one enhances the colors of the shirt. A moto jacket and bag in leather or faux leather are in keeping with the slightly unisex look, as are these unique high-top sneakers which mirror Whitney’s  If you want to keep with the androgynous look, keep other jewelry and accessories to a minimum; if you’d rather dress it up, add some sunglasses, bracelets, and earrings.

Look 3: Rachel Bilson’s Lovely Layers

Rachel Bilson is one of the most inspiring celebs out there when it comes to street style, since she is rarely spotted not looking put-together. This week was no exception; she wore a flowy floral skirt, a gray cable-knit sweater, a green military parka with a fur-trimmed hood, black tights and patent black booties.

Overall, I think Rachel’s look is perfect fall fashion inspiration – the neutral colors of her outfit are a cool contrast to her dark tights and shoes, and I love that her outfit looks warm yet still stylish.

Rachel’s outfit is special because it has an undone quality to it — it’s not “perfect,” and that’s what makes it so cool. Layering is key to achieving this aesthetic, and as Rachel shows us, we don’t have to be confined to one narrow color scheme.

To start, pick a printed skirt with a flouncy fit, and wear a chunky cable-knit sweater on top. A military parka pulls the look together and is in keeping with the loose-fitting pieces that comprise this look. Next, wear black knit tights and black lace-up booties for a lean leg. (In fact, in this instance, the black does double duty, acting as a “pop of color” against the otherwise-neutral palette.) Finally, I found a two-tone handbag similar to Rachel’s, which incorporates both the black and the neutral colors.

I love Jamie Chung’s look. It’s so simple yet put together. I’m sure that a pair of tights would make it more winter-appropriate.

I’m constantly trying to find ways to dress down my leather skirt and Jamie’s outfit totally nails it! It looks so laid back, but the leather and leopard still gives off an edgy vibe. Love it!

I love Jamie Chung’s style with this outfit and Whitney’s is interesting and eye catching without trying too hard. The only one I am not feeling is Rachel Bilson’s it just doesn’t look put together to me, but that is just my opinion. I think Whitney’s is best for around town casual and Chung’s is best for a stroll around town at night. :) Love them both.
