Celebrity Street Style of the Week: Date Night

Celebrity Couples

For this week’s celebrity street style feature, I was inspired to do a post on date night outfits, since it seemed like celebrity lovebirds were spotted all over Tinseltown looking cute this week.

So today I am going to show you how to recreate the looks of Whitney Port, Rebecca Romijn, and Jenna Dewan, who all looked fabulous while out with their beaus this week. Of course, these outfits would work for more than just dates, so single ladies, this is for you too!

Look 1: Whitney’s Hip Printed Dress

Whitney Port, star of “The City,” was out with her boyfriend Ben Nemtim this week, looking fun and flirty in a black and white printed dress with a structured cross-body bag, simple jewelry, and insane black ankle boots with spikes on the heel.

Her dress is perfect for these last summer nights – the thin straps, along with the low neckline, make it coquettish, while the bold pattern keeps it looking hip.

This Forever 21 dress is a great substitute for Whitney’s, as it has a similar bold black and white print, and the same flirty details like a low neckline and partially-exposed back.

Depending on where you go, you can pair the dress with black patent leather ankle booties (which have a sheen like Whitney’s), or go for some oxford flats. These oxfords happen to have a slingback style which makes them unique, and they also have patent leather in the front, allowing you to keep the same shiny look as the booties, while giving the whole outfit a hipster vibe.

This cross-body bag has a structured shape, which is a big trend in bags for the fall, and finally, this cool horseshoe bangle (designed by none other than House of Harlow, Nicole Richie’s jewelry line) gives your look a little unexpected bling.

Look 2: Rebecca Romijn’s Pop of Color

Rebecca Romjin was spotted out with her hubby looking fresh in a bright yellow dress paired with nude heels and some green earrings. I love a good pop of color, and Rebecca did it right by wearing her dress with the nude shoes, so as not to overwhelm the look. As a bonus, nude heels are known to make legs look mile-long (not that Rebecca needs any help there).

To recreate Rebecca’s look, there are two different vibes you can go for: a more refined, polished look (on the left, above) and a more trendy look (right, above) – of course, which one you choose depends on your destination!

The polished look starts with a yellow pencil dress, which is flattering on many different body types — the shape is classic, but the color keeps it updated! — paired with some chandelier earrings in a light green shade, and lovely nude wedges.

The trendy look, which I think would work for a club or party environment, features a shorter yellow dress with a pointed one-shoulder detail, green teardrop earrings, and strappy nude heels. Both outfits work well with this nude clutch from Forever 21 with a quilted front pocket– love the unique shape!

Look 3: Jenna’s Casual Cargos

See Photo Here

Jenna Dewan was spotted out on a movie date with her hot hubby Channing Tatum this week, looking casual yet trendy in some skinny cargo pants (every celeb owns a pair!), a white tee shirt, a striped cardigan, black studded ankle boots, a black shoulder bag, and some silver hoop earrings. The cargo pants, beyond being the perfect way to rock fall’s military trend, are a fresh, unique alternative to skinny jeans.

The pieces used to recreate Jenna’s look are great because they can be used in so many other ways. For example, the studded black booties would look awesome when you go out- they’ll dress up everything from skinny jeans to a simple skirt or dress. The cargo pants are a nice neutral gray that match an array of tops, and the white tee shirt– well, it’s the ultimate basic.  I love how the striped cardigan has a waist-tie to emphasize your shape, so that the stripes don’t overwhelm your body.  The accessories are pretty basic as well– silver hoops and a large black shoulder bag complete this look.

What do you think?

How I love ankle booties, they make the legs of even a petite person like me look long. I love the outfit inspired by Jenna, I especially love the pants – who wouldn’t want a butt that looked that great. Pity they probably don’t do anything nearly as flattering on my figure.

Great looks! I am crazy for ankle booties and I love the ones you chose with the studs and they are so affordable! The stripped sweater is great too and I’m thinking of getting it. Thanks for the article. I love your style.

I’ve always loved Whitney’s eccentric yet simple style. Her look is my fave of the 3…and her new boy toy is a cutie too!

    These are all cute!
I love the sample outfit for Rebecca, but I would nix the one-shoulder dress (they really don’t suit me) and I’m not a huge fan of adding extra girth to my thighs with cargoes (even though I am slight).
I super love Whitney’s sample outfit! Yay!
