Celebrity street style: Celemence Poesy, Taylor Swift and Rachel Bilson

Every week, I scour the web to find inspiring outfits on your favorite celebs and help you recreate their looks! This week, I was inspired by Clemence Poesy, Taylor Swift, and Rachel Bilson. Read on to see how you can get their looks for yourself.

Look 1: Clemence Poesy’s Effortless Urban Cool

French actress and fashion darling Clemence Poesy is known for her cool, dressed-down aesthetic which is inspired by her international lifestyle. This week, she opted for a downtown chic look while out and about in NYC, wearing a rust orange gingham shirt, black skinny jeans, geometric printed sandals, and some round sunglasses. While Clemence’s look is simple, touches like the bold prints on her shirt and sandals elevate it beyond basic.

To adapt Clemence’s look for warmer weather, I chose some frayed black denim shorts instead of jeans, which still look cool when paired with a checked shirt in a similar orange shade, and geometric black and white flats. In keeping with the urban vibe, I added funky, uniquely shaped sunglasses, and a black woven tote bag for all your city essentials.

Look 2: Taylor Swift’s Retro Inspired Outfit

Taylor Swift stepped out this week in a fun, retro inspired look, wearing a modern day interpretation of a dress from the 1950s. She paired her frock with equally colorful accessories, including a green satchel bag and a yellow polka-dot headband.

Taylor’s look is perfect inspiration if you’re up for going a little bet retro but still want to look summery and colorful.

Taylor’s look centers around a colorful, retro-inspired dress – this one mimics hers with its bright stripes, scoop neck, fitted bodice, and pleated skirt. To incorporate the mixed prints trend like Taylor, wear a polka dot headband. The polka dot print gives the look a retro flavor, which is accented by these rounded sunglasses. Next, add a simple box clutch – this neon green one complements the dress and adds a hint of the neon trend. Since the outfit is so bold, keep your footwear simple: basic tan sandals are all you need.

Look 3: Rachel Bilson’s Contemporary Cool

Trendsetter Rachel Bilson was spotted this week in some star print jeans, a graphic t-shirt, an army jacket, sandals, and a small white satchel bag. Her look is quite eye-catching: star print jeans are not something I would personally think of buying, yet Rachel manages to work them into a cool, contemporary look.

I love Rachel’s look for summer concerts or casual time spent with friends. To recreate her look, I found some star print denim shorts which are more suited for the season, as well as a bit more wearable than her jeans. Pair the shorts with a black and white graphic t-shirt and an army jacket, then add some cool neon pink sandals for interest. To keep the look fashion-forward, incorporate a more structured and chic item, like this small white satchel.

What do you think?

I absolutely love the outfit inspired by Clemence Poesy! It seems like something I would wear and could easily recreate in my wardrobe. However, the next two outfits are a bit far-stretched for me. I like the dress but I would accessorize it a little differently, and the star print shorts would be hard to work, but perhaps I’ll try them if I feel the need to be a little more bold in my day-to-day fashion :)

I’m quite into Bilson’s look–specifically her choice of pants. I know a lot of people would think of star-printed jeans to be a bad look, but I think she styled it in a way that makes it appear less 90s teenybopper. Overall, her look is probably the most unexpected and different.

I always go with a vintage style. I’ll go with Taylor’s style. Chic and classy.

I really like the Celebrity Style posts, but just a suggestion… every time I see the photos of the celebrities, they are so so so tiny that I squint to see the details you are referring to in the text. There used to be click-on links to the photos under ‘Source’, but not in this post…?

So, I wonder if you could make the picture of the celeb larger or maybe have the text BESIDE the pic of the celeb instead of BELOW it, like that in ‘Campus Looks’ posts. This will definitely help us see the photos and the style interpretations more clearly! :)
