Celebrity Street Style of the Week: Anna Friel, Carrie Underwood, & Julianne Hough

Every week, I scour the web to find inspiring outfits on your favorite celebs and help you recreate their looks! This week, I was inspired by Anna Friel, Carrie Underwood, and Julianne Hough. Read on to see how you can get their looks for yourself.

Look 1: Anna Friel’s Sleek Black & White Look

English actress Anna Friel looked sleek this week in an entirely black and white outfit with a classic, preppy vibe. You might not think to opt for white jeans (it is way past Labor Day), but white skinnies like Anna’s make a classic statement when paired with riding boots. Anna’s black boots and long black coat looked great with her black and white checked sweater, while her studded bag made a discreet statement.

Anna’s look exemplifies timeless chic, and it doesn’t get more classic than a black and white pairing. Bold white jeans make an unexpected statement in the cooler months, and look super chic when paired with pieces that have a bit of a preppy vibe to them. With black riding boots, a sleek black pea coat, and a black and white printed sweater tying everything together, you’ll have an outfit that is easily wearable for many occasions. Don’t forget a small studded bag to add a bit of edge to the look!

Look 2: Carrie Underwood’s Sequin Skirt & Shirt Combo

Carrie Underwood sparkled in a printed sequin mini skirt and blue button-down shirt while posing for photos in New York City. Sequined mini skirts in fun prints are popping up all over the place, and for good reason: they make a big statement and add a sizable dose of glamour to any look. Carrie really played hers up by choosing a bright blouse to go with it, and adding some equally sparkly jewelry.

I love Carrie’s look for a social gathering or a fun night out; it might even work for a family holiday party. The fun, attention-grabbing nature of the printed sequin skirt is balanced out by a more grounded button-down blouse in a matching blue hue. This particular blouse is more playful than your average button-down, though, thanks to the cutouts on the shoulders. Add some silver jewelry in the form of a bracelet and earrings, and finish with cute heels, like these gray wedges with bow detailing.

Look 3: Julianne Hough’s Colorful Cozy Look

Julianne Hough looked colorful and cozy this week in some mustard-hued skinny jeans, brown lace-up booties, a black blouse, and a multicolored cardigan, along with a black hat and round vintage-looking sunglasses. Cozy cardigans are a must for chilly weather, but that doesn’t mean your wardrobe has to match the outdoor dreariness. Bright skinny jeans and a colorfully printed sweater make Julianne stand out in the crowd, and her vintage-inspired accessories are the perfect complement to her look.

Mustard-colored skinny jeans can work well for the fall and winter seasons. The best part? Winterizing doesn’t mean you have to play down the bright color of the jeans – instead, play off of it as Julianne did. A striped cardigan that ties in harvest colors (this one also has cute skulls on it) will complement the pants and make a bold statement. Under it, just add any simple black or white top. For accessories, try out vintage-inspired pieces like round sunglasses, lace-up booties, and a black wool hat in a floppy or fedora style.

Carrie’s outfit is great. Love the skirt and that is such a pretty shade of blue.

love all the outfits especially your version of Carrie Underwood’s outfit (your version is actually better than the original) and the skull cardigan from the third look.

I like the outfit for Julianne Hough, but mustard yellows, and most yellows really, are a big no-no for me because they tend to wash me out.
