I was recently interviewed for an article about college trends. While I think most CF readers are more stylish than the average college girl, make sure to click to page two to read my thoughts on college trends in general.

On the college trends article:
While I do agree that Uggs, Vera Bradley bags, Tory Burch, Longchamp bags and North Face are trends that lack style, fun and are often mistaken for having “style,” I don’t agree with the fact that boho chic is anything unique or new, either.
It’s just the same as maxi dresses with Greek flat sandals– sure, it’s comfortable and easy to throw on, but it’s really nothing significantly more special. In the spring, that’s what everyone looks like on campus, right? Cowboy boots or sparkly sandals, but I think you get the picture.
However, I do see this sort of ensemble as a baby step into trying to dress more uniquely on a regular basis, so I don’t see the suggestion as invalid or in a negative way.
The posted website is a very loosely focused collaboration between myself, 2 women and a gentleman, but I’ll make a better effort to find unique but practical looks, since practicality is incredibly important as a college student.
Good article :)

Tracy – Totally agree with you. I definitely don’t agree with much of the article – I don’t think boho chic is anything new either, for example, and I don’t even really consider Longchamp bags and the like “fashion trends” – they’re really just things people wear without thinking and fashion is rarely involved. Just thought I’d post the article because it was somewhat relevant and they took the time to interview me about it!

Might want to put up a NSFW next to the Unibrow article. Some naked women in the ads.
Irina
I think you need to remove the Project Runway link…it’s from the summer of 2008! Whoops! (Plus, the next season will be season 8, not season six anyway…)
Enjoyed the rest of the links, as always!
Samantha
Definitely agree with the first two comments. The things the article cited as trends aren’t really fashion-related. I mean, I guess they’re trends if everyone has them, but I would be hesitant to say that ubiquity = fashion. Interesting read, though. Although I haven’t found that fashion trends on campus move as quickly as Zephyr makes it sound (but it might just be at UC Berkeley. Where no one cares. My life is full of woe).

Irina – Good call! Haha, I compiled this list in a hurry today and didn’t have time to check the links all the girls sent me – sorry about that!
Tracy
Oopsy– sorry if the last bit of my comment didn’t make sense– I saw I was prompted to insert a website if I had one but I didn’t realize it wouldn’t show up.
But thanks for the response, Zephyr! Your work and the work of your team is always fantastic!
