Hautelinks - your weekly source for the best of the web

* It’s that time of year again – New York Fashion Week has been going on since last Thursday (today is the last day, sob!), and FabSugar has a great roundup of the best street style looks from the Fall 2012 show-goers.

* Haha, oh this is true: Why NYC Fashion Week is Just Like Your High School Cafeteria.

* Annddd our friends at Refinery 29 rounded up their 15 favorite looks from this season.

* We always love The Beauty Department’s Mani Mondays – case in point, this week’s double manicure tutorial, featuring layered leopard nails AND cute art deco-y hearts.

* However, our FAVE nail look of the week has to be Adele’s Louboutin manicure that she rocked at the Grammys.

* Oh my god, we love this so much: Written? Kitten! is an in-browser writing app that shows you a new kitten picture every time you write a set number of words – if that’s not motivation to knock out an essay, I don’t know what is.

* Haha, 10 Things ’90s Kids Will Have to Explain to Their Children. Fern Gully was AMAZING! (And, um, oh my god, I googled the Batty Rap lyrics like the article mentioned… so messed up.)

* Soo cute: Sophia Grace & Rosie Go to the Grammys for Ellen. “We weren’t nervous but we were hungry!!”

* Mackenzie Drazan’s New York Fashion Week Model Diary, from WWD, gives an interesting behind-the-scenes look at what it’s really like to walk at fashion week and still have a life.

* Cute Spring hairstyle idea: Simple but Showy Bohemian Updo.

* Rachel McAdams’ 6 Most Romantic Movie Moments – aww! Have you guys seen The Vow yet? I just saw it and was surprised at how much I liked it!

* So much fun: Write custom Chanel love letters for your BFFs! Best part is it’s free.

* Ooh, Hunger Games fans, this is for you: Capitol Couture is a website dedicated to covering the movie costumes and fashion inspired by the books. Seriously cool!

* This is an oldie but goodie: How to make DIY dresses out of too-big tee shirts.

* Another great tutorial that shows what you can do using just a tee shirt or two: DIY Striped Skirt.

* Hahahah, from Cracked, If Famous Websites Had Real-World Locations. My favorites are Geocities and the YouTube Comment Arena.

* How to make Cake Batter Blondies. As a big Funfetti fan, it’s pretty much mandatory that I make these soon.

* See also: DIY rainbow cakes in a jar! These would be so perfect for a party.

* And on a similar note, Cooking Light lists The Most Common Cooking Mistakes – great if you’re learning or just want to improve your skills.

* For those of you 21-plus, Drinkify is pretty cool – just enter the artist you’re listening to and it will recommend the perfect alcoholic beverage to drink while you listen.

* Okay, fair warning, some of these stories are creepy/awful, so don’t click if you’re easily scared! That said, I couldn’t stop reading this thread: Reddit, what is something catastrophic that has ALMOST happened to you?

* Totally random but we found it amusing to look at all the ’80s duds: A slideshow of mall madness in 1989.

* The Gloss shows you how to use strawberries as facial toner.

* The best sheer and lace tights, from The Frisky – you still have a couple months to wear ‘em, so enjoy while you can!

* Teen Vogue shows you how to recreate Katy Perry’s Grammy beauty look.

* Graphic design/art nerds, you guys will appreciate this: The 6 Rules of Modern Poster Design. So true!!

* The Models for “American Gothic” – another one for you art nerds. I had no idea that the pitchfork man was actually a dentist!

* Okay, Valentine’s Day may have already passed, but these Game of Thrones valentines are too great not to link.

* One more V Day-related post: The Top Engagement Ring Trends, from Fashionista. Even though I have NO plans to get married anytime soon, it never hurts to know what you want, right? (Those colored stone rings are gorgeous!)

* YouBeauty asks… which Girl Scout cookies are the healthiest? Of course my two favorites are the worst… (Like that will stop me!)

* If you’re like me and are already buying summer clothes, you need R29’s advice on wearing summer maxi skirts in cold weather.

* Also from R29: 2012’s Must-Try Hair Trends. Do you agree that braids are on the way out?

* Haha, apartment-dwellers, you will understand this: The Most Entertaining, Obnoxious, or Completely Insane Notes Written to Neighbors. (Pro tip: 9 times out of 10, talking to them works much better than leaving a note.)

* Former CF writer Ally blogged about creating a table-scape on your dresser to add color to your room. Super cute!

* This is genius: What Size Am I? is a new app that will calculate what size you are in different stores – all you have to do is type in your measurements.

The Girl Scout Cookies link takes you to a page that says the article doesn’t exist. The ending of the URL should be girl-scout-cookies, not girl-scout-cookie (singular).

Good websites though. I really like the 90’s and engagement ring ones.

Refinery 29 says braids are out? Spring 2012 runway shows in October were still rocking them. I’m going to disagree.

Taylor – Thanks! Will fix the link now!

Jenna – I agree, still love braids for Spring.
