Not going to lie, I was quite offended by the “Portrait of a Witch” article. Although it’s not a term I use for myself as a practicing pagan, I have many a Wiccan, pagan and non-religious-but-practicing friends who consider themselves to be witches and reading this, I only felt demeaned to a devil-working stereotype.

I enjoyed the Disney link for I love different adaptions of the Disney princesses. I also find the anatomically correct Barbie article interesting for I didn’t think that a women would actually try to shrink her waistline like that. It’s a bit disturbing :(

On the subject of “Skinny Minnie”– as an artist, I can’t say I see how altering a beloved female character– who COULD serve as a positive role model for young girls (and grown women!)– in order for her to fit more closely with close-minded and often harmful ideas about beauty and who is “allowed” to wear fashion is artistic.
