I am so in love with Aerie’s marketing campaign! It’s sending such a powerful message that the entire fashion industry needs to pay attention to!

As for the “Which City” quiz – I got Barcelona. Admittedly, I’ve wanted to go to Barcelona since the Cheetah Girls 2 movie, but I really wish I’d gotten Tokyo, I’d love more than anything to spend time in Tokyo!

I just got Aerie’s new ad in the mail yesterday. I love their new campaign. This should not be a campaign, it should be permanent. So empowering and such an alternative and positive light for the girls/women that shop there!! Way to go, Aerie!

The R29 sneakers article has no link? Adorable fluffiness at the end!

Zephyr, the original source of ‘Girl Tips’, is a great feminist blog called ‘The Toast’ (If you like ‘The Hairpin’, I think you’d like it too), and its author is Kendra Wells (http://the-toast.net/author/kendra-wells/).
Just thought they should be credited :)

Jillian – I love it too! So cool that they’re doing this! And I’ve always wanted to go to Barcelona too and funny enough haven’t thought a lot about Tokyo. My boyfriend got Tokyo too, though, so now we’re thinking a visit may be in order. :)

Rose – Totally agree! Would be amazing if they made the change permanent. I know I’d support their brand if they did.

Emily – Thanks for pointing that out! Fixing the link now. And yes, so much fluffy!!!

Annie – Thanks for that! I hate that Tumblr doesn’t have a better mechanism for giving original credit. Will add a mention to the post. Totally going to check out that blog too :)

That is so weird re: what your favorite shoe says about you! Katherine Heigl is my doppelganger! :O

That s’more kit looked adorable but I wonder if marshmallows might go stale if the box isn’t air tight. I guess I’ve been burned by too many diy projects that look great on a blog but don’t work out in real life (i.e. make your own coffee syrup equals make your own bottle of mold.)

I really liked the article about reality TV, especially the take on Survivor and the Bachelor. I feel like I’ve wasted tons of time thinking I could just magically turn into a different person (a cheerful optimistic extrovert). If people can’t do it for a million dollars it is clearly impossible. You are who you are.

Usually I find things like what aerie is doing gimicky, but I actually like this campaign! I always hated that my stomach was “bumpy” unlike models, but looking at these girls I realized that I’m actually normal! They have weird bumps on their stomachs too!
It’s so much easier to look at something an decide if you’d like it when it’s on a girl who’s body actually looks like yours…
