I think these vintage inspired items are cool for the most part, some of the pieces didn’t wow me but overall, not bad.. I’d wear one of these pieces (I have the plaid American Eagle coat in mind) with a basic black long sleeved tee, medium wash blue skinny jeans, red ballet flats, and I’d finish the look off with some really cool bangles.

i’m on the hunt for a chanel-esque tweed jacket like the one you pictured in the middle from AE (must check it ouit). i think it’d be great to mix up classic with current with tights, ankle boots & a bandage skirt!

My sister actually tried on the Modcloth plaid coat in a thrift store awhile ago, haha!

It’s got a really nice weight, and it can be worn either buttoned all the way up to the collar, or left open at the top to form lapels. Very versatile, and universally flattering.

… I wish I’d made her buy it now!

Great post! I love those sweaters.

I also have a question.

I work in my school’s cafeteria two mornings a week before my classes. It is very difficult to find cute clothes that: do not show any cleavage and have sleeves, have jeans/pants without holes or rips, closed toed shoes (usually tennis shoes because they can get really dirty), and something that I will not fret over if it gets a little dirty. Also, our hair has to be pulled back and in a hairnet! I hate to go around campus after work still looking slouchy and unflattering, because I don’t have time to change into another outfit.

Hopefully someone can help :)

^I second that. My skin sometimes becomes dry, kind of flaky, and red because of the cold weather. My mom is going to buy me a moisturizer that she loves and I’ve used in the past but do you girls have any ideas? Ultimately, I want to see a dermatologist anyway but I tend to forget to search for one.

Anyway, about this post – I like the jacket you used in the first outfit and the sweater from the second outfit. What’s the deal with “batwing” sweaters though? The shape looks funky and unflattering to me…?

Could you guys make a post on how to make skin survive and stay pretty through winter? Today I rocked a great outfit but my skin is super dry and red, it just destroyed my look completely..

I love the winter coat outfit, very well put together! It has a winter look and a few of the current trends put into one ensemble. I love the second outfit as well, very flirty but with a vintage edge, my fave is the skirt, that style of skirt is starting to become a huge trend! I would like to see something different besides vintage, but overall great post!
