Fashion and Style Tip #3: Buy your heels 1/2 size too big! This is one of the first rules of high-heel buying if you’re hard to fit. Since your feet naturally slide forward in heels, buying them a half size larger will make them fit correctly if your normal size doesn’t fit right. Wearing heels that are comfortable and correctly fitted will make you look a thousand times better while walking in them. |

Annie can I ask you a question? How do you walk??? Is 1/2 size smaller a typo? I think I would die if I did what you’re doing! lol
You buy heels a half size too big so that there is room for your foot to slide forward and your toes aren’t crunched at the bottom of the shoe when you walk. It depends on the brand of course, but in general, the rule is you should usually aim for a 1/2 size bigger than what you normally wear.
Try it! I think your feet will be a lot more comfy in the future! :)

That may work for some styles, but whenever I get shoes that are the slightest bit too big they rub on the heel, or they slip off the heel, or my toes end up over the edge of an open toe, or all three. The only way I can see this working is on a closed-toe shoe if you also add a back of heel pad.

I can’t FIND any shoes half a size too big, I already wear a size 11! Anyway, whenever I get heels I always have to put those grip things in them anyway to keep my toe from bunching at the bottoms and making it loose around the back and slipping off. I don’t think having them any bigger would help that!

I also buy mine 1/2 smaller and I’ve tried 1/2 bigger but then the shoe just slips off! esp. when there’s stairs

If you can, just try buying a wide width instead of going up a half size. That way, you foot has room to expand out, but the heel won’t slip

i agree with anna marie and annie. i buy my shoes 1/2 too small because no matter what the shoes are made out of they will stretch slighly then they fit. if they are too big they just slip off
