Yep, it’s that time of year again – summer weather has arrived! With the craziness of the school year behind us, it’s time for frozen drinks, popsicles, and days spent relaxing with sand between our toes or soaking up the rays poolside. (Let’s just forget about the phrase “summer job” for now, k?) But what type of swimsuit should you choose for your next trip to the beach or pool?

To find out, just take this fun quiz below to see which bathing suit style best represents your personality! If you take the quiz here on the site, the widget will automatically total up your answers for you. If you print the quiz, total up the letters you got and find which one you selected the most. Once you get your answer, find your letter and corresponding result below for a sample outfit based on your personality type.

Quiz Results – No peeking!

Below are the results of the quiz. Don’t look if you haven’t taken it yet! I’ve created one outfit for each result to help give you some ideas for what to wear. Enjoy!

Mostly A’s: Bikini

Product Information: Top, Swimsuit Top, Swimsuit Bottom, Sunglasses, ShortsSandalsBag

Tropical floral prints are the epitome of summer beach style, and I especially love this bikini with its ruffled bandeau top and bow-tied hipster bottoms. To complement this bikini, cover up with some crisp white crochet shorts and a cropped tank with an open back detail. Next, add on the finishing touches with some oversized sunglasses, coral sandals, and a yellow striped tote.

Mostly B’s: One-Piece

Product Information: Dress, Swimsuit, Hat, Sunglasses, Bag, Sandals

One-piece bathing suits exude sophistication and modesty, but that doesn’t mean they have to be boring. For this outfit, I found this geometric printed swimsuit. To complement your classic style, pair it with a printed maxi dress and an oversized, floppy sun hat. Finish the look with some strappy sandals, a straw bag, and oversized sunglasses.

Mostly C’s: Retro

Product Information: Romper, Sunglasses, Sandals, Bag, Swimsuit, Headband

You love yourself some vintage fashion. And luckily for you, retro beachwear has been all the rage recently. For a look inspired by the days of Marilyn Monroe and Bettie Page, try out this polka dot two-piece. Next, throw on a striped romper, some cat-eye sunglasses, a striped tote, and bow sandals. And to complete your retro look, tie a printed headband into your hair.

Mostly D’s: Monokini

Product Information: Shorts, Swimsuit, Hat, Sandals, Sunglasses, Backpack

You like to set trends and take fashion risks, so why not carry this fashion philosophy over to your swimwear? For a one-of-a-kind look at the pool this summer, try a fringed monokini. Since most of the top half of the suit is already covered (minus the side cutouts), all you need is a pair of brightly-colored, printed shorts to throw over the suit. Complete the look with turquoise gladiators, a fedora, printed sunglasses, and an ikat backpack.

What do you think?

Did you enjoy this quiz? What was your result? Do you think it matches your personal style? Which swimsuit is your favorite? Do you like the cover up options as well? Please let us know what you think by leaving a comment below!

I got bikini’s… I used to love string bikinis when I was younger, but I’m now tending towards more retro styles as they usually are more structured and offer far more support.

These quizzes are always so spot on! I tested Retro and already had similar pieces to those recommended. Now to get a workout in then hit the sand. Hope you guys are enjoying the summer!

I got the retro and loves the romper, but when I clicked on the link I found it was from the kids section of Forever 21. Maybe I can squeeze into and extra large?

Well I seriously wish I took this quiz /before/ I bought my bathing suit -__-
I got One-piece, but I already bought a side-tie, bandeau (though it’s super cute and compliments my shape…well the bottom does. The top I sometimes feel as if it might fall off, regardless how tight I tie it lol)

    @Ignorant Awareness:
A monokini is technically a one-piece but with cut-outs usually at the stomach area.
