I’ve just brought a sewing machine not too long along and that is one of my resolutions.I think I may also try to think before I buy.I have a plan on what I want to buy.I think I am also going to try developing my own style because for the 3 years all I’ve worn are skinny jeans and graphic and band tees which is kind of getting old

I love these resolutions.. definitely adding to my own list! I’ve always wanted to attempt to make a few of my own clothes.. maybe this is the year to really try!

Here’s something funny- I’ve been making fashion look books every season since I was 13. And I have most of them. Its cool to look back on what I used to wear! (I looked like I walked out of The OC most of the time! Ha ha) But this year I’ve gotten even better about it. I started my book for this year early this morning actually. I take an inventory of my closet, get rid of old pieces to give to my cousin Ansley. Then I sort the clothes into piles based on personality/weather/anything else to define an outfit. For the rest of winter 2009, I have a “sloppy” casual pile (ie: long sleeve t’s, boot cut jeans, down feather jackets, henleys, rainboots/snowboots), a casual pile (skinny jeans, well-cut long sleeve t’s, casual tops, and a step up on the jackets, as well as casual heels and boots) And then a formal pile that is eventually sorted into 3 sub-piles: Family/Parties, Dinner out, Town parties (good ol’ Charleston style), and business/professional.

Its a bit weird, starting the new look book every year. But I’m confident in my style, this year especially, to be one of the strongest I’ve had in years. Practice makes perfect, right?

And yes, I DO have a lot of free time on my hands lately. And it doesn’t help that I sleep 4 hours for every 30.

First off I’d just like to say that I love this site since about August and I love it. My fashion resolution for 2009 is to actually get around to making a look book full of outfits so I don’t end up in a mad rush at 7:30 every morning before class. Hope you had a great new year :)

i like the resolutions u put up here! Maybe i’ll try to take photos of myself this yr too! it sounds like a lot of fun :) ! in fact, i’ll make this my resolution!
the other thing i really need to keep up is “THINK BEFORE BUYING”. this can save a lot of money. i’m also thinkin of purchasing the book u suggested!
