You know those days – the ones where you roll out of bed (after hitting the snooze button too many times), stumble into your closet, and have no idea what to wear? Our series Easy Outfit Formulas is here to help! Every other week, I’ll feature two items (which you probably already own) that can be paired into outfits for those days when you need some quick and easy inspiration.

With finals looming and winter break on the horizon, it’s easy to get stuck in a fashion rut of t-shirts, jeans, and sweats. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to be comfortable – just do it in style!

This week’s combo is a great starting point: oversized cardigans and leggings. It’s hard to get any comfier than that! Scroll down to see three cute and stylish outfits with this easy formula:

Cozy for Class

Cardigan graphic tee leggings
Product Info: Cardigan – Forever 21, Graphic Tee – American Eagle, Leggings – Lord & Taylor, Boots – Target, Necklace – ASOS, Bag – Accessorize

This is the perfect lazy-girl-in-disguise look! It all starts with a pair of simple black leggings, a graphic tee, and a marled boyfriend cardigan. Dress up these casual pieces with classic riding boots and some chic accessories – a teal satchel and jeweled statement necklace add color and polish.

Lazy Sunday

Printed leggings red cardigan
Product Info: Cardigan – Target, Leggings – Topshop, Tee – Topshop, Boots – Accessorize, Headband – Dorothy Perkins, Hair – Elle.com

This outfit is perfect for a lazy day around the house (or dorm). Pick a fun pair of wintry printed leggings and your favorite white tee, then layer on a cozy burgundy cardigan. Slip on a pair of fur-lined boots to keep your toes warm.

Hair a little on the messy side? No problem! Just tie it up in a topknot and slip on a knit headband.

Sleek & Chic

Draped cardigan leather leggings
Product Info: Cardigan – Forever 21, Leggings – Dorothy Perkins, Tank – H&M, Boots – Kohl’s, Necklace – 6pm, Bag – ASOS

This last ensemble is perfect for a casual night out with friends. Choose a cool geometric-print cardigan and black tank on top, then spice things up with some leather-look leggings on the bottom. A black satchel will hold all your essentials, and a pair of heeled buckle booties will be more comfortable than stilettos. Add a final edgy touch with a spiked necklace.

i luv this series sooo much! and for girls like me who aren’t into leggins, the tops or blouses can be substituted for dresses and the leggins for tights. Like in outfit 1 a t-shirt dress, black opaque tights and the cardigan.

I don’t wanna see anyone’s butt hanging outta their outfit because they were too lazy to wear a pair of real pants. Cute outfits, tho, with a little swap on the lower half.

Kuri and Lisa–You’re right, not everyone likes to wear leggings as pants, so it’s definitely a personal choice. You could easily swap these leggings for jeans or jeggings, if you prefer.
