Pink or red, chocolate or conversation hearts, Valentine's or Galentine's, there are so many ways to celebrate February 14th.
If you're in a relationship, you've surely got something special planned with your significant other, whether that means going to a fancy restaurant or cooking dinner together at home. And the single ladies out there can have just as much fun celebrating with your friends! No matter what you have planned for the holiday, make sure it includes lots of candy, heart-shaped decorations, laughter, and love.
What better way to show your holiday spirit than with a beautiful dress inspired by Valentine's Day? Whether you opt for a Barbie-pink frock or a vampy red number, you can't go wrong with a skater-style dress. Below, I'll show you how to style one of these dresses for both day and night on Valentine's Day.
To add an extra-special touch to your holiday ensemble, I've collaborated with the wonderfully talented Somayea, who will be sharing two lovely day-to-night makeup looks later today. (Check for her post here!)
So, grab your S.O. or your gal pals, get all dolled up, and celebrate Valentine's (or Galentine's) Day in style.
Valentine's Day Dress: Class
For a daytime look, start with a holiday-appropriate skater dress - I'm especially in love with this Marsala-colored one. Next, add a cardigan to keep warm. Since it's Valentine's Day, after all, I couldn't resist including this heart-print sweater!
A romantic pink scarf and pretty knee-high socks will keep you cozy, while a pair of flat brown boots are both cute and comfortable. Follow your heart with this map-printed watch (or at least check the time in style). Finally, pay homage to Cupid and his magic bow with these arrow-shaped hair pins. Finish everything off with Somayea's simple daytime makeup look.
Valentine's Day Dress: Night Out
For your date night or Galentine's Day festivities, amp up this look by swapping out your cardigan for a structured blazer in a lovely, pale pink shade. Stick with the color scheme with these bold stud earrings, then add a ring and bracelet with Valentine's-themed details.
Lacy oxford heels are romantic, but still pack a punch. An envelope clutch with a chain strap adds just enough edge to your otherwise feminine ensemble. Somayea's smoky nighttime makeup look will add the finishing touches to your ensemble.
Would you wear either of these looks? Do you have other style ideas for Valentine's Day? How will you be celebrating the holiday? Are you Team Chocolate or Team Conversation Hearts? (I'm a chocolate girl, myself.) I'd love to hear from you guys!
