Do you struggle with transforming your outfits from day to night? Don’t worry, CF is here to help turn that daily annoyance into a fun challenge. Class to Night Out focuses on one piece per week, and aims to help you take your look from study sessions in the library to dancing the night away.

Name a celebrity who hasn’t looked absolutely stunning in peplum this year. I definitely can’t. Peplum is so chic and flattering that it’s no surprise to see it on every red carpet and topping “hot trend” lists everywhere.

I’ve been meaning to incorporate peplum into a post for a while, so I’m happy to finally do it today! Inspired by Charlize Theron’s flawless look at the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday, this week I’ll be showing you how to style a simple white peplum top for class and a night out. ‘Cause who says you can’t look elegant at an 8 a.m. lecture (or just running errands)?

Peplum Top: Class

To give your peplum top a casual vibe, pair it with some fun colored denim shorts –  I love these pale pink ones for summer. Kick back with a pair of laid-back gladiator sandals and a matching leather tote. Accessorize with fun details, like candy-colored bangles and beaded stud earrings in a gorgeous coral hue.

Peplum Top: Night Out

Pair your top with high-waisted black skinny jeans for a classic night out look that’s totally chic. This monochromatic ensemble will make the dramatic shape of the peplum really stand out. Add a pair of geometric gold earrings to liven the look up a little, and try strappy black wedges for extra oomph. For a pop of color, finish with a mint green cross-body bag.

What do you think?

Would you wear peplum, or is it strictly for the red carpet? What do you think of the outfits? Be sure to let me know your thoughts in the comments, I’d love to hear them!

I love peplum tops. They’re so much more casual than peplum dresses and skirts, so they make cute outfit transitions like this possible.

yes i would! i think the plain ones are very chic and elegant and versatile. this top is beautiful but i think the exposed zipper at the back kind of spoils it.

Yes I would. I love the peplum trend. I bought a peplum top at H&M and wear it so often. The look for class is great!

I have a peplum top, but haven’t worn it as much as I would have hoped. I love these two outfits and am feeling inspired to break out the chic little top:)
