Do you struggle with transforming your outfits from day to night? Don’t worry, CF is here to help turn that daily annoyance into a fun challenge. This column focuses on one piece per week, and aims to help you take your look from study sessions in the library to dancing the night away.

Here at CF, we are firmly of the opinion that lace is not just for little girls, grannies, and vampires. These days, lace as so versatile it might as well be considered a neutral fabric. A touch of lace can take your look anywhere from ultra-feminine, to retro-glam, or even dark and edgy.

This week, I'll be showing you how to style a basic cream lace top for both a cute-but-casual day of class, and a glamorous evening out. Read on for more!

For a girly daytime look, pair your lace top with your favorite pair of pastel colored jeans - wear them now before you put them away for winter. (I'm a huge fan of this salmon colored pair.) Add vintage flair with a pair of tan lace-up brogues and a graphic print scarf. Keep the rest of your accessories classic but cute by trying out a cream leather tote and a pair of glitzy fuchsia studs.

Lace Top: Night Out

How to style a lace top for night with a magenta peplum skirt, gladiator pumps, a gold statement necklace, a gold heart ring, and black quilted bag

Get dolled up for night by pairing your lace top with a glamorous magenta peplum skirt - so on trend for fall! Add a touch of edge with a pair of black gladiator-style pumps and a gold cluster statement necklace. For your finishing touches, sport a black quilted cross-body bag and a "quilted," heart-shaped cocktail ring.
