Do you struggle with transforming your outfits from day to night? Don’t worry, CF is here to help turn that daily annoyance into a fun challenge. This column focuses on one piece per week, and aims to help you take your look from study sessions in the library to dancing the night away.

You don’t need me to tell you about the miracle that is the high-waisted short. They are simultaneously effortless and casual, provide amazing waist-accentuating properties and make everyone’s legs look super long. No matter what your personal style is, every college girl needs a pair to call her own.

This week, I’ll be showing you how to take a pair of basic black high-waisted shorts from day to night, with a little bit of a boho spin.

High-Waisted Shorts: Class

For day, pair your shorts with a more casual top, like this tie-dye tank, for a relaxed look. Don’t worry about wearing black and brown together, mixing neutrals actually looks really chic when done right, giving you that “oh, I just got out of bed and I look flawless,” vibe. For your accessorizes, try mixing things up a little by sporting a cute tote with a fun print, like this bicycle bag, layered multicolor bracelets and a silly-but-cute necklace. (I am loving this llama one!) Finish off the look with some subtly shimmery gold sandals.

High-Waisted Shorts: Night Out

Keep up the relaxed vibe of your day look, but add a little sparkle to your top, with something like this awesome shimmery geometric printed tank. Keep your accessories neutral so you don’t overpower your look: Try a deep brown cross-body bag and simple gold feather earrings. Tie everything together with big bangles and funky brown platform sandals.

Your thoughts?

Will you wear high-waisted shorts this summer? What do you think of the outfits? Let me know what you think in the comments, I’d love to hear your thoughts!

I just got myself a pair of orange high-waisted shorts. Plus, I love boho twists on outfits, so this is a great article for me. :D

Had a night out last night with the girls and I took some inspiration from this post! Wore a pair of navy high waisted shorts with a white blouse and an emerald green belt to draw in my waist. Got so many compliments! Thank you CF! :) X
