Topshop Spring/Summer 2010 Lookbook

If you love high fashion looks but hate the high-end price tag, you’re in luck. Everyone’s favorite store from across the pond, Topshop, has just recently released their Spring/Summer 2010 lookbook, and all I have to say is “Wow.”
Whether you’re a rock and roll rebel, Parisian princess, bohemian babe, or something in between, Topshop has a look for everyone, and I do mean everyone.
And to make it even easier for us shoppers, the Spring/Summer collection is separated into four mini collections- each with a different theme and style. Read on to get a breakdown of each mini collection, as well as see the entire Topshop S/S 2010 lookbook in full.
Parisienne

Polka dots, ruffles, stripes, and polished pearls and baubles adorn the Parisienne mini collection. It shows off the fun and stylish attitude of classic “Parisian chic” while giving it an appropriately modern twist.
Saloon

The Saloon collection tips its hat to the old West by utilizing western frills, cowgirl-inspired blouses, and timeless denim rags. It is a beautifully rendered adaptation of saloon style that any girl, American or not, can stomp her boots around in.
Meadow

Delicate chiffon, ruffles, and floral prints are sprinkled throughout the meadow collection. But what I love most about this collection is that it doesn’t play it safe: there is a tinge of rock and roll scattered throughout, and the collection is complete with ankle booties, studs, and dark details.
Downtown

Alexander Wang lovers rejoice! Topshop has the perfect urban-cool collection for you. Complete with edgy silhouettes, monochromatic fabrics, and futuristic slouch (and tailoring!), Downtown has just the right amount of cool at just the right price.

Final Thoughts
Topshop has an impressive array of styles for the ever stylish fashionista. And at such a reasonable price, I am drooling at the prospect of owning some of this fabulousness. If you are interested in the collection, check out Topshop.com to shop the styles, or visit the New York location (Plea to Topshop: Open more stores nationwide, please! I’m all the way in California!) to try them on in person.
Now that you’ve seen the entire collection, what do you think? What looks stand out to you? Are you going to be purchasing any of these looks? What’s your favorite mini collection? Whatever your thoughts, let me know in the comments!

I like the Meadow look. The ruffles and floral prints are very cute and I can see myself wearing skirts and dresses based off this style. I could play it up anyway I want by keeping it simple yet flirty or adding dark details for drama. Very cool looks!

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE.

ohhhh…. what a lovely treat! I adore topshop and I must say this collection of clothes is pretty amazing! I could really see myself wearing the looks from the meadow and parisienne collections, I shall have to keep them in mind when I am searching for new clothes for the spring! :)
Christa
I wish they would ship to Canada. :(
Rachel
This lookbook is totally inspirational. I’m Canadian too Christa so I feel your pain, but these looks can be made or inspire loads of different outfits. I’ve already decided my spring outfits will include lots of tights beneath shorts. It’s such a chic look! I’d also love to experiment with pattern on patterns…I’m not sure if you ladies have written an entire post about that on CF but I’d love to read an in depth article about how to mix patterns for spring and still look chic (not crazy!). This is an awesome post Kim, very inspirational.
Thanks! :)
Tina
A great one!!!!……I also love topshop and this year they did an amazing job! Thank God for our small store!! They already sell some of the stuff above =)
Do any of you find it pricey for what you get? I have a beautiful red dress from this winter collection, which was around 60 euros and is already looking washed out after third time it was washed. I think zara sometimes gives you more for your money. Which leeds to another question…do you have Zara in USA? I can’t remember seeing it while I was in New York.
Kate
Love it! When will these looks be available on the website?
Lex
Oh I wish, I wish we had a Top Shop in Toronto.
I am in LOVE with their stuff, apparently we’re getting one soon so I’ll just have to be patient.
Julia
So. Amazing.
I am sooooo inspired right now. Everything is so creative, so fashionable and so fabulous!!!
Isabelle
ugh. There’s some really really really gorgeous pieces I feel like I need in my life. I love how soft and romantic everything is, very pretty!
Rachel
I’m with Tina– i prefer Zara (both the style and the price). Topshop is so overdone here in my opinion; every girl on a night out will be wearing a topshop dress, and in the day the same style topshop leggings. It’s funny because they bought them to look different but all end up looking the same!
My favourite stores here have got to be Zara and Miss Selfridge! But on a posiive note, the Topshop collections looks very trendy as always!
JN
I like the downtown look! And the photo that was used for the downtown example– I would like to give the outfit a pop of royal blue somewhere like an accessory!
I want Topshop to open more stores!
Natalie
I am so into the Parissiene look. As someone doing her French 102 homework at this moment and planning to study abroad in Paris soon, the Parisian outfits were so inspiring.
Anuli
I love the collection, but I’m still deciding how I feel about blue lipstick. What do you guys think?
Aurie
I LOVE their Saloon Collection…
i wish top shop wasnt so expensive though…bummer.
Aurie
actually i like the Meadow better i changed my mind…
Cara
Very much in love with the Parisienne collection, even though I feel it is the least original of the three since I have been wearing a very similar look – the tights with shorts, long, asymmetrical pearls over detailed tee, cardi or soft blazer – since this fall. Still, it’s great to see Topshop’s take on my favourites. The Saloon collection felt more originally inspiring; I really like how it used Western details in a sophisticated manner. In honor my native Texas and my love of horses and riding, I may just have to buy that horse-graphic dolman!

(i’m usually not a negative commenter but…)
Ever since CF first posted about Top Shop, i couldn’t wait to shop there!! And i visited New York last month. However, when i stopped by Top Shop i was disappointed in their lack of organization and service. Long story short, i ended up leaving empty handed and very upset… i just had to share that lol
On a good note i’m loving these looks. Too bad i vowed to never shop there! lol
jitushka
I saw the collections before and I was dissapointed with the lack of colors… I just want spring and summer to be bright!
Madeleine
I really, really understand why there’s so much hype surrounding Topshop now. The look that most stood out to me was the one on the very bottom row on the left. I’m sadly not going to be purchasing any of these looks because they’re too expensive (an average of $100 per item which is a lot more than I’m willing to spend) My favorite mini collection is Parisienne because I have been OBSESSED with looks that are very Parisian after I went to Paris this summer on vacation.

Wow I’m obsessed with this lookbook… meadow is my favorite! :O Haha maybe I’ll ask my friend in London right now to get a few pieces for me and bring them back to the U.S. with her…
Alana @ The Good girl gone blog
I’m surprisingly not a huge fan of Top Shop. I’m living in London right now and it was a bit of a disappointment- overpriced…
Charlotte
I can’t wait for this collection!!
Being from the UK I’m a huge Topshop fan and there are so many gorgeous pieces here I can’t wait to have in my wardrobe!!
i especially love the nude corset, the brown lace ups, the floral dress and of course the amazing shoes!!
