It was recently announced that Taylor Swift signed a three year partnership deal with Keds that will encompass everything from footwear collaborations and multimedia campaigns.

For her first duty as the company’s new spokesperson, Swift designed a limited-edition sneaker that will be released later this month. Inspired by her upcoming album “Red”, Swift designed crimson-colored classic Keds adorned with the album’s logo.

According to WWD, the limited-edition RED Keds are priced at $50 and will be available to purchase online only at keds.com, taylorswift.com, nordstrom.com and journeys.com. Both the shoes and the album will be released next Monday, October 22nd.

To be honest, I have never heard of Keds. These are not realy my style – I like big, black boots that make you look a bit bold and innocent at the same time with a flowered dress. These are too sporty. And really, Taylor Swift has max. two good songs that I would listen to, all the rest is just for 11 year olds that believe in fairytales and their perfect prince.

Even though i love taylor swift i have to say im not that impressed with the “collaboration” it looks like all she did was post the album name on the back of a red shoe (the colour of which I’ve definitely seen keds come in before). There’s just no real effort involved in this and it just kind of seems like a tired old marketing ploy we’ve all seen time and time again. I’d love to see her put real effort into a collaboration since I think her style is quite cute and girly and a bit retro at times.

I love Keds, but I am not impressed with this “collaboration”. It looks just like a regular pair of red shoes to me.

I love Keds and I actually have a red pair just like these. The only thing T.Swift did was add ‘Red’ to the back. It’s a bummer. :(

50 bucks for a pair of plain red keds? I don’t think so lol

keds are normally around $50 anyway ($40 online at macy’s), so….the price isn’t a big deal

I love big black boots, spikes, leather, AND Taylor Swift. Also, I love fairy tales.

Looks a little too similar to the (RED) campaign to me. Not creative at all, and I’m sure the proceeds of this do not go towards the fight against AIDS.

I love keds, they have this comfortable style which makes you feel like your not wearing any thing. You can wear these red kids with denim blue skinny jeans, or wear them with a dress. They look so lovely.

I adore most things Taylor but this is a disappointing design. It lacks her whimsical vibe and looks like a 2 second job. Take her perfume as am example – as much as I do not like the scent, I find the bottle design very ‘Taylor Swift’ and can definitely get into that. These sneakers… eh.

Pretty disappointed as well. I mean, this probably won’t be the only shoe to come out of her campaign, but this was really underwhelming compared to her Wonderstruck perfume, etc.

Also, I agree that this looks really similar to the (RED) campaign. Where is the creativity?

kayleigh, i thought the exact same thing when i first saw this. like, “aw, taylor swift is bringing back the red campaign, that’s nice.”

    nope. lame.

It’s great that she’s collaborating…but the first limited edition sneaker is something so basic and classic that I don’t understand why it has to be priced higher just because she’s endorsing it.

I will however be buying her new album.

I’m feeling kind of old because some of the girls posted that they have never heard of the brand Keds.

I also thought this had to do with (RED). I don’t understand why anyone would buy these. They don’t look at all like Taylor Swift’s style.

I too thought this had to do with (Red) , and am disappointed that it doesn’t.. Taylor has aa strong fan base. I believe her efforts would be better spent collaborating with a charity but to each, her own.
