They’re all beautiful and easy to reference to each of the districts. I’m definitely buying these as soon as possible. I’ll definetly be wearing Hook and Line to the movie (I’d be in District 4. Plus, even though Finnick is not in this movie, he is still my favorite character).

Love love LOVE these colors!! And I love the Hunger Games! I’m currently in Vancouver for school and they don’t have China Glaze up here but I’ll be hunting these down when I visit home!! So excited!!
Tarynn
I wish I could own all of these!

I am definitely a fan of hunger games! Anyone who hasn’t read the books and wants to see the movie I really think you should read the books first! (plenty of time to read te first one before the movie comes out!) I like all of these but my favorite would have to be Riveting or Smoke and Ashes! Great post! ;)

They all look great! Love that they based the colors/names on each district: at first I was disappointed with the names because I didn’t read the description at the beginning. I do kind of wish the District 4 polish was more blue, though.
Chelsea
i DIE for these colors! i’m so excited that china glaze finally has a comparable collection to the OPI collections. want them all!!
Julia
Wow. I never understood these “inspired” nail polish collections, but I am definitely reminded of the Hunger Games when I see these colors. “Electrify” in particular is amazing…
fijenia
espectacular la gama de color,la verdad me gustaria tener todos para usar un color cada dia

Really? I heard they WERE doing the polish then Lionsgate dropped out, violated their contract, was almost sued, decided to go ahead with the polishes again, then a few days ago I read they dropped out AGAIN. I’m totally in love with these colors but I NEED to know what the heck is going on!!

Stari- I wrote this post over the weekend and as far as I know the polishes will definitely be released! I think they did have a problem with the polish names and copyright infringement, but I believe that China Glaze changed the names and the issues were resolved. Can you tell me where you saw that article a few days ago?
Anna
I like the original names better! http://thelook.today.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2011/11/30/8805265-hunger-games-nail-polish-line-dead-before-games-begin I think they had to scramble to come up with a new angle for the colors they already had… some of the names could have been better reflected, like district 4 = shade of blue.

Loved the series, but I’m not too impressed by the colors. All the earthy tones just aren’t my style, but I would definitely rock Stone Cold and Fast Track.
Isa
Ugh I really loved the old names better :( I just thought they hit closer to home. I mean, “Primrose” and “Baker’s Son” conjure up more emotion and love for the books than “Dress me Up” and “Mahogany Magic.” Ah well at least they’re still the same colors, and at least they decided to continue on with the collection…
Emma
I love the whole second row, Luxe and Lush, Riveting, and Smoke and Ashes. Most of these colors are really unique and pretty!
Erika
I’ve never looked forward to nail polish collections but I cannot wait to get my hands on these! I read the Hunger Games trilogy over winter break and have been obsessed ever since, I recommend them to everyone. Can’t wait for the movie!
Sarah
I love Stone Cold, Hook and Line, and Smoke and Ashes. I can’t wait for the movie, and I might even buy some of the polishes!
melissa
I really want all of them! But I just spent a good amount on nail polish sooo I think I need to just relax for a bit lol.
Savannah
I can’t wait for these to come out!! The colors capture the essence of the book perfectly! Especially the first row

Isn’t there something kind of ironic about the whole spin on these nail polishes and the meaning behind The Hunger Games? I mean I love that they did one for each Capitol, but the whole promotions are based on the Capitol (Hello, EFFIE is the face) and just seems very frivolous and pretty (which is the obvious choice for an ad campaign)–which is kind of part of what HG was all against (extreme frivolity that is like the French with during the French Revolution). Obviously they were against the other extreme (District 13), but that’s another story altogether.
Also, I’m just gonna put it out there as a nail polish snob–if there are more nail polishes for movie releases, I hope Lionsgate is smart enough to team up with OPI instead. OPI is better.
Taylor
I’m so excited to see a The Hunger Games post!
I am such a huge fan & excited about the release.
I love the nail polishes! I know some people have already been placing their orders. I can’t wait till they hit stores so i can get a couple colors!
pandamaniac
i love the books and nail polish want them soooooo bad!
Katy
@ Samantha: I see it more as intentionally ironic. It says it’s “for the Capitol”, but really each name subtly refers to a district in kind of a subversive, “rebel” way.
I personally waaaaaaay prefer China Glaze.
Chloe
These colors are gorgeous!

I read the article here. – http://thelook.today.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2011/11/30/8805265-hunger-games-nail-polish-line-dead-before-games-begin
I was pretty disappointed when I read this because I was sooo going to buy some. But now I’m totally confused. Some sites are saying its happening, some aren’t. I really hope they do though cause I am LOVIN me some Electrify! ;)
Ashley - Flagler College
Stari- That article was written back in November, when all the legal issues started, but they’ve been resolved since then! China Glaze released the new names and photos of the bottles this month, so I’m 99.9% sure it’s happening :)
Christy
I bought 6 of them–Harvest Moon, Riveting, Luxe & Lush, Smoke & Ashes, Hook & Line, and Electrify. I’m so in love!!!
