Sneak Peek at Christian Siriano’s Spring 2011 Payless Line

Christian Siriano for Payless Spring 2011

Project Runway’s fierest alum– Christian Siriano– debuted his Spring 2011 collection last Thursday as part of New York Fashion Week. While the designs were fabulous as always, the models were also wearing footwear from his Christian Siriano for Payless Spring 2011 line.

The shoes were inspired by “cultural influences from Africa, India and China together into a single design aesthetic” and it’s no question that these super-stylish shoes look like works of art. But it does make us wonder if these exact designs will be in stores, because  in the past Payless has toned down Christian’s designs to make them more mainstream.

Of course, we’ll have to wait to see if the original designs will be in stores, as the shoes won’t be available until next spring. However, like Siriano’s previous collections, they should retail for under $50.

Want to get up-close-and-personal with this fabulous footwear? Check out this sneak peak of Christian’s Spring 2011 Payless line, straight from the runway, courtesy of Zimbio. (Click each photo to enlarge.)

What do you think of these shoes? Are they too wild for your taste? Do you think Payless will tone down the designs? Leave a comment and let us know your thoughts!

They are very cute! Definitely not too wild, you can always simplify your outfit and keep the focus on the shoes. I hope Payless won’t tone them down, but I think they will.

I love the shoes! I just think that they aren’t practical for the average shopper at payless.

Good luck pulling those off! I am all for dressing up for class but the avant garde I don’t know….Not very practical either coming from a very large campus.

Chelsey – I think they’ll probably tone them down too, unfortunately. And I agree – I think they would be amazing paired with a more simple outfit! I hope we see them in stores, but who knows :/

Nohell – Probably true. But I wonder if enough people who were into fashion bought them, Payless would at least manufacture a limited run for the runway shoes in the future? They don’t have to appeal to everybody to be sold, if just online or by special order or whatever.

Sierra – Haha, we definitely didn’t say you should necessarily wear these to class during the day! Personally, I was thinking I’d love to have these for a night out or occasion, however I think you could probably get away with a few pairs at work if you worked in fashion or the creative sectors, too. It’s all in how you wear things, as well as your location, occasion, etc.

I think these shoes are awesome, but for the runway….do you know how many people would be saying “wtf is she wearing” if you wore those on the street? I doubt Payless would put them out like that – its the heels that bother me… I love Payless, do my shoe shopping their mostly and – I’d be the person making fun of those shoes saying “who would wear these out?”

I do like these shoes, and I agree with their impracticality for the price point.

The other problem I see with these shoes at the Payless price point is the comfort. If a customer is paying $600 for an avane-garde shoe, chances are, it’s going to be made of exquisite materials, and with the care needed to make a shoe like that a good fit on the foot. I just don’t see this happening for a $20-$30 shoe.

If I loved them, I’d save for them, but I wouldn’t sacrifice construction for the Payless price.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the shoes. they look so fashion forward and fierce and the PLUS is that I wont have to spend a FORTUNE to have those shoes!

As soon as they hit the stores im going to payless ASAP!

All very creative concepts! I hope to see them in stores!

I don’t agree with all those people saying the shoes belong in the runway and not on the actual streets. I think fashion is about expressing yourself and who cares if girl with a much lower self-esteem or not enough confidence to rock these shoes makes fun of you for being brave enough?

I love Christian’s shoes, specially the heels on most of them and i’m sooo buying me a pair as soon as they come out! (if they don’t tame them down at payless that is).

I can’t see myself wearing these…they look too “out-there” for my taste.

I want them. I’d wear them out whenever I had to wear heels.

    *If they’re moderately comfortable.

Not a fan of these – their lines are too distorted and unusual for my taste. Also, I cannot imagine anything that unusual on the Payless shelves…

Love them! if Payless actually decides to not tone them down, i will definitely be buying a couple pairs.

I love all these shoes. I would definitely rock them all but I know Payless is going to tone them down a bit before putting them on the market.

I love all the shoes and can’t wait for them to come out. True these shoes are not for everyone but why not step out of the box once in a while and be fierce. It’s ok to be daring and wild sometimes. Don’t be so predictable and ordinary. I just pray that Payless has the line on shelves. Christian had a line last year that I wanted a pair of heels from and they never made it to the store. I wonder what happened Payless? I’m watching you this time.

I LOVE THEM! I would ware them at wrk, to school, for dinner, late night club scene.I’ve never shopped at Payless before, but these shoes are chique and fierce, and there shoes that i will buy, even if they are playless. only because of the unnique fashinable styles. If they (Payless) put these shoes in shoes, they will have a new client. myself. :) So for those you say these are only “runway” shoes.. um.. i disagree, if you knw about style and knw how to ware them… they are more than that. These would be my “everyday” look.

I will be dreaming about every single one of these shoes until spring comes and I live in FL, which only means that I’ll be able to wear them way before you snowbirds!!!

P.S. If anyone dared to laugh at my impeccable foot wear I would only laugh back at their lack of fashion sense.

I have a pair and I absolutely LOVE them. They were only $35, so it’s a great deal for shoes designed by someone like him. I got the reptile skin-like shoes.

Love these shoes, but I’m sure Payless will tone them down – we’ll see.

I hope not too much though because as an artist if they change it too much then it’s no longer Christian’s style but a watered down version. Hope Christian wins!
