I’m not at all embarrassed to say that I’m in love with this collaboration. I’ll definitely be rocking some Forever 21/Hello Kitty gear as soon as it comes out!

I hate to be Devil’s Advocate here, but I personally think that Hello Kitty gear on anyone over the age of 13 looks a little wrong.

I personally am proud of my love for Hello Kitty and am happy to say I own Hello Kitty footie pajamas from Target (only to wear not in public of course). But I love Forever 21′s new line and how creative they’ve gotten with the designs for Hello Kitty! I also like that they made fashion pieces that show Hello Kitty but are still mature pieces to wear.

I’m pretty sick of Hello Kitty themed clothing. In my opinion, it’s juvenile. I do love Hello Kitty iPhone cases, wallets, watches, and the like, but I don’t think someone should have clothing with the character on it. Let your clothing be something fun and cute, but not that cute!

I’m not a fan. In the UK, Hello Kitty is worn exclusively by girls under the age of 10 and scene kids. IMO it makes you look like an idiot, sorry Forever 21.

Meh. Not into Hello Kitty at all! I think I’d buy some of those pieces if they didn’t have HK but now I won’t…it’s too childish and I want to look sophisticated.

My brain just exploded! I’m buying every single piece!

Hello Kitty is cute, but I’m not sure I’d wear her face on a cardigan or a sweater. I admit the pink blouse is adorable, but it’s gonna be a fine line between looking playful and childish. Hope there will be some ideas on how to style them!

I never understood the allure of Hello Kitty. But good for the fans! The pieces look pretty nice and actually on trend, better than any Hello Kitty stuff I’ve seen so far. And if those shorts are in the collection, I’ll definitely have to take a closer look.

I’m in love with Hello Kitty. I’m excited that f21 is doing a collaboration because now I can buy sophisticated looking Hello Kitty clothes instead of a bigger sized shirt in the kids department. There’s something just so fun and girly about hello kitty :) this is where a lot of my paychecks will be going to~

Since I’m not seven years old, I will passing on the Kitty Couture. The styles are nice, but I don’t like Hello Kitty emblazoned everywhere.

I have to admit, its not as bad as one would think… I wont be sporting any of this, but I do find the white sweatshirt and the Pink Hat / Jacket combo soooo tempting.

It is a very nice collection. Some classic piece with a hello kitty twist. The blouse and cardigan are just beyond beautiful but fun

ehh…there’s a fine line between cute and juvenile and forever21 likes to dance right over it. Not my thing, but I’m sure there are people out there who can pull it off anyway.

I understand why they made this line (besides $)
There are younger girls who love fashion too so ya it make sense. With this line of clothing they combine 2 things kids love, hello kity and looking older than they are. But ladies… You are in college (most likely if your on this website lol) and the hello kitty line will make you look really childish and will not work for you like it will for kids. Sorry.

i agree with sarag…. hello kitty is cute when it comes to pencils and erasers but when you have it stamped all over your clothing then i think it just looks childish. not exactly a college girl staple

I don’t understand the stigma against childish themes. Great for you if you want to look like a lady or something, but don’t blanket statement everyone else into your narrow style confines. Everyone knows you’re in your 20s, wearing Hello Kitty isn’t going to suddenly turn you into a five year old. At the very least you shouldn’t call someone an idiot for wearing something you don’t like. Really makes you wonder who’s the “child” here.

  25. 25
    October 3rd, 2011 at 6:46 pm

I personally would not wear the cardigans with big hello kitty faces on them, but I think some of those pieces are subtle enough, like the blouse and the pink/black glitter top, very cute! So I’ll be looking forward to when this hits the stores.

Also, some people should really lighten up. Expressing your opinion is one thing, but calling others idiots for liking this is pretty mean. If some people can pull off the childish/kitschy look, or feel great wearing something like that, then good for them! No need to be so judgmental! :D

Hehe I am lucky because I can get away with it! :D I already look really young so why not dress however I like? I was always into really cute and childish prints.

CF asks for opinions in the comments, I don’t think we should chastise people for sharing them just because they’re not watered down…

@Bailey: Then why are you chastising me for sharing mine?

    I despise Forever 21 but I love Hello Kitty. I’m torn. :/

  32. 32
    October 3rd, 2011 at 8:39 pm

    @Ann

Because criticizing the clothes is fine, but criticizing how someone else comments on the clothes irks me a little. Sorry, I’m not out to start a fight or anything.

  33. 33
    October 3rd, 2011 at 9:08 pm

@Bailey To me, it’s gone a little past a criticism of the clothes to a criticism of the wearer. I would not have said anything if it hadn’t been for the “it makes you look like an idiot” comment. If we’re all college girls as we say we are, then I think we can come up with a little more constructive commentary than that, rather than stooping to petty insults (and don’t get me wrong, most people here have commented in a constructive way). I don’t have a problem with people criticizing the clothes themselves.

  36. 36

I was little when Hello Kitty got big and I honestly didn’t like it then and hate it now. Never been appealing on 3 year olds let alone 23 year olds. I say no!

I love this new collection I so going to buy somethings that I really WANT

  38. 38
    October 4th, 2011 at 11:28 am

I guess for me I don’t see anything that appealing in the hello kitty logo itself (as in it doesn’t scream fashion or cute or fun the way say, polka dots, do). So all I see when I see the Hello Kitty logo is “oh, little girl who probably also owns lots of Lisa Frank”. For me, it just seems childish and college girls wearing it to me would be like a weird Lolita thing.

BUT I guess if there are girls out there who actually find the logo very cute and fashionable, the way I see, say, stripes, then I get it and I get them wearing it. And I don’t think of them as Lolita anymore. :)

@sp Which definition of Lolita are you using?

As for me, my main book bag’s HK! :D It’s awesome quality. While I’m not normally into HK clothes, though I miiight be tempted to try on a few of them if I happened to be in F21 sometime soon, but I’d be much more likely to get one of the bags, or maybe the scarf (I’d have to see it in person)…
