Even though it’s not even summer, beauty company OPI has released info on their upcoming fall nail polish collection. The collection — called “Touring America” — features colors inspired by cities across the United States.

OPI’s executive VP and artistic director, Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, described the inspiration behind the collection:

“My recent road trip across the country sparked the creation of the Touring America Collection. This collection will take women around the world on the ultimate tour across the USA, with stops in Baltimore, Clarksdale, Hollywood, Jackson Hole, Memphis, Milwaukee, New Orleans, New York City, Philadelphia, Seattle, St. Louis, and Tucson.”

The collection will include twelve eclectic colors, like trendy grays, fall-appropriate dark shades and bright reds and oranges. As with all OPI polishes, each one has a clever name that relates to road trip or a popular spot in the United States.

The “Touring America” collection will be available starting on August 3rd at OPI retailers nationwide for $8.50 each.

These look so similar, especially the grey ones, there’s hardly any difference..

I hate the Uh Oh Roll Down the Windows one. Not my favorite line.

I agree. Not much variety at all. I think the road trip theme could have been much more creative in representing different states and areas.

Never fear ladies! From what I remember OPI usually releases these type of promo shots and they are usually not representative of the true color. Most recently I picked up the Pirates of the Carribbean OPI Collection and noticed that the picture of “Stranger Tides” barely represented the lovely green shade it actually is. It didn’t even look green in the picture! So hopefully that is the case with these photos as well. My one request with this collection would’ve been one more shade representing the Midwest besides Milwaukee (maybe something fun for the Twin Cities or the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota).

p.s. Blair I totally agree… I mean, really? Gross! And why would I want that on my nails. I can just see someone asking what color it is and answering with the name…

I feel like people will buy some of these polishes simply for the name (Uh oh roll down the windows? that one is great!). How many of us have been guilty of that? At least I have…once or twice. Likewise, not everyone has these colors in their collection already (whether it be by O.P.I or another brand). I personally like the top row the best. That really screams fall time to me!

I actually like this collection – there are professional, serious colors, as well as fun, flirty shades. I love the top row the best – perfect for fall! :)

Too hard to look at right now when there are so many beautiful bright summer colors out!

OPI’s promo picks never match the actual shades, so don’t fear, they’ll probably be pretty different when we finally get to see them first hand.

I love the I Eat Mainley Lobsters and My Address is “Hollywood”, but the others don’t jump out and call to me. The names are all very catchy though.

Meh, I feel like I’ve seen all of those colors before. I mean.. I guess they’ve got to run out of shades eventually! Color to Dine for would probably be my favorite, the others are so bland.

the names are all cute but theres not much variety in color; hopefully they’ll be WAY more inspired by cities by the time they roll out. Sheesh, can Cincinnati get a color though? I feel like OPI has come out with a million lines based on New York. Where’s the Midwest love??

Love how the Pacific Northwest seems to have two- “Taupe the Space Needle” and “Get In the Espresso Lane.” (We sure do love our coffee.) Glad they’re not out till August though since I still haven’t worn the “Lincoln Park After Dark” I’ve already got.

I think it’s the funniest thing in the world that they have a color called uh oh roll down the windows!! not exactly something i’d buy but pretty hilarious!

I can’t be the only one who’s annoyed by all of OPI’s attempts at “cutesy” names. I swear I’ve seen all of these shades before, and like others have said, all of the grey ones look too similar.

Also, the fact that American cities “inspired” them to make 8/12 shades dark and murky and the other 4 some shade of cliche red/pink bothers me. With all the variety in American culture, this is all they came up with?

This got a little more rant-y than I planned, but I’m sorry–OPI just annoys me.

I love this collection! I’m a big fan of the pink and orange hues and the various shades of gray. OPI can do no wrong in my book.

Aw, I love that shade of olive/khaki… I have been looking out for a shade like that. Cute name, too. “Uh oh, roll down the window”. It will look dark, cool and chic on nails, while NOT being blue, black or dark red.

Its the only exception to what Jenny said.
