First Look at MAC’s Simpsons-Themed Collection

When we first heard that MAC would be creating a collection inspired by The Simpsons matriarch Marge, we were skeptical. After all, how could that iconic blue beehive translate into wearable makeup? However, MAC just released the first images of the collection, and we’re pretty impressed.

According to WWD, the 10-piece collection includes eyeshadow palettes, lipglasses, blush, nail stickers, and false lashes, with prices ranging from $16.50 to $44. MAC’s Marge Simpson collection will be available online starting August 28 and in MAC stores starting September 4.

But if you plan on attending San Diego Comic-Con, listen up: the collection will be available before the official launch for one day only during Comic-Con. You can snag the collab exclusively at MAC’s Gaslamp store in San Diego on Saturday, July 26.

To tide you over until then, here’s a closer look at the products in the collection: (Click image to enlarge.)

You wrote SANG instead of SNAG. You should probably proofread a couple more times before posting.

You wrote LIPGLASSES instead of LIP GLOSSES. People make typos all the time, so it is understandable.

As for the make-up, it is a horrible idea. Do that many girls even care about the Simpsons? The packaging is hideous, needless to say, it completely turns me off. For the prices of MAC products, I would definitely want more of a sophisticated chic look. The make-up itself has nothing special about it, so no I am not digging the collaboration.

I’m going to SDCC this year but I’m not sure if I’ll be picking any of these up, although I do love the MAC character collaborations. Wish they’d do another Wonder Woman or Disney collection!

This is pretty neat! A little bit out of my price range but I would love to give the false eyelashes and the nail stickers a try!

Hannah: Thank you so much for catching that! I proofread all posts at least 2 or 3 times before publishing, and that still somehow slipped my radar.

Candie: For some reason, MAC refers to their lip glosses as lipglass.

I didn’t realize they called it something different. I was just trying to be silly like Hannah when I made that comment.
I have never tried MAC products because it is out of my price range. With the various character collaborations, does MAC discount/clearance previous items when they come out with a new collaboration?

Candie: No worries :) That’s a really good question! I don’t buy MAC makeup too often, but I can’t remember ever seeing products on discount. I’m not 100% sure, but I think they keep collabs up on their site until the products sell out. Any MAC aficionados know the answer to this?

    Candie and Ashley:

You can sometimes find discounted MAC limited edition collections at the Cosmetic Company Outlet (CCO)

I love the Simpsons, so it’s an interesting concept. I just think it’s weird to design a makeup collection around a character who doesn’t wear noticeable makeup! I mean, it looks almost like they just slapped Marge’s face on a couple of typical shades.
