Duro Olowu for JCPenney Lookbook
Last month, we told you all about JCPenney’s first-ever designer collab, and now we have photos of the lookbook!
If you need a recap, the department store is teaming up with designer Duro Olowu to create a limited-edition collection that will encompass women’s clothing, shoes, and accessories, as well home accessories and luggage. The collection launches in stores and at jcp.com starting in March, with all items being priced between $10 and $100.

Will have to check out the quality. Most of these designer collaborations fail there. Also, if I didn’t know these were by Duro Olowu I would not guess they were–very atypical of his style for the most part. So I’m cautiously optimistic. The question does remain: will the Penney’s customer know who he is (as most of America does not) and will they care?

So playful and fun! I am excited to see these in person!

There are some standout bags in this collection. I look forward to seeing this in stores. With regards to Almisa’s comment, I think it’s okay if the average Penney’s customer isn’t familiar with him. One of the things that I really like about designer-department store collaborations is that it offers the opportunity to expand the average consumer’s designer lexicon. I think that designer collaborations at this level tend to generate so much hype that that alone will draw customers to the line. I know this has been the case for me on a number of occasions.
