Don't Miss The Marc by Marc Jacobs

Ever wanted to own clothing by Marc Jacobs but can’t afford the super-high price tag to go with it? Now you can have the best of both worlds.

Teen Vogue announced today that Marc is launching a special capsule collection under the Marc by Marc Jacobs label. The collection, named Don’t Miss The Marc, will be “budget friendly”, with all pieces under $200 (a big change from normal MJ prices). The collection will launch on August 1st.

Here are some preliminary photos of the line. Hopefully more pics will be released soon! Click each to enlarge.

nothing too different than what’s in stores at f21 and wet seal and stuff.
    i don’t think it’s worth 200 dollars…

i agree. definately not worth $200. that stuff that you have pictured is pretty ugly anyway. i love other marc jacob stuff though.

i’d rather buy a bag with that money..
    the clothes are mediocre, imo.

looks like something i could find at wal – mart. not worth the $200 price tag

I LOVE Marc Jacobs, but I would never spend $200 on these clothes.
In fact, I’m really disappointed. The skirt is sorta cute, but the rest falls flat for me. There’s nothing special about these clothes.

I don’t really like anything shown, other than the skirt. Even that is pretty mainstream and easy to find (for a much cheaper price). I like MJ, but I’d probably just stick to buying some of the normal stuff. That way the quality wouldn’t let me down …

I am totally going to buy the leopard leggings. They look amazing and I would make them boho chic. Like pair them with a black v-neck tee, white leather motorcycle jacket and black doc martens with like a wispy hippie headband in my hair. So adorable!

That stuff definitely *looks* budget friendly…

Marc certainly knows how to evolve with the times! This is a smart business move..

Not quite digging this collection. 200 is a lot to spend on clothes that are pretty darn close to what you would find at stores these days. Smart business idea, but a better collection is needed here.

who is this really budget friendly for? because most of the people who like this only make minimum wage. =/

Love the skirts, hate the rest. I hope (and expect) that not every item will be $200. Hopefully the skirts will be within my price-range, because I NEED one!

    Would not want

    $200? For those? Nah.

I agree with what most people are saying here. The stuff may be cheaper than Marc Jacobs’ regular line, but $200 IS still a lot of money for people in college, and when I do spend that much on something, it is because it is a very unique and impressive piece or something that is a good wardrobe investment, like a black suit or something. I won’t buy it.

These are less than mediocre, something that looks like I can find in a walmart, and not worth around $200. Fail for Marc.

I like Marc Jacobs, but these look like an elementary school kid line of clothing =/

$200 is beyond insane. I mean you can find super cute clothes for less than 100.

$200 is a lot of money still. I would spend higher prices for good quality, classic pieces, but unfortunately it’s not a price I can afford any time soon.

hmm well the jackets are kinda nice… but thats it… shame

These pieces don’t look very high quality to me… no way would i spend 200 dollars on them. Maybe $200 on the stuff from his regular line that is on sale!

I can’t get over how very boring and 90’s these pieces are. Definitely not worth the price tag. I’ll stick to Forev.

I agree…these don’t look like very good quality at all. Besides that, they’re not cute. Even if they were sold for target-like prices, I still wouldn’t buy them. I’m not a particularly huge marc jacobs fan…a lot of his clothing just seems too plain to be worth it for me. I’d pick up something from his line as a staple item, maybe…but when i’m dropping lots of money, I want something super unique…not plain and boring.

    Hmm, mixed opinions!

I just wanted to clarify because it seems like a lot of you have the wrong idea. The items will all be less than $200, which does not mean they’ll all retail for $200. I’m willing to bet that the most expensive piece (maybe the blazer?) will be around $200, while all the other pieces will be much cheaper. I don’t think he’s going to charge $200 for a tee shirt!

A MJ blazer is definitely worth the $200… but I won’t buy a tee above $30, and I don’t think MJ sells the tee with that kind of price. Lol.

Yess!!! This is what we’ve all been waiting for. I love the “Don’t Fret My Pet” T-shirts. Those crack me up. I also like the skirts. Pretty and polished. :)

also i wanted to ask, tights under shorts and skirts- is it a fashion do or dont?

Marc Jacobs, along with most other designers use better material than what is sold at retail stores like Forever 21. Plus they’re also have a higher production quality. So really you’d be paying for the quality of the piece, not just the designer label.

I love Marc Jacob’s clothes. He’s brilliant. I’d have to see this entire line before I could really make a complete assesment. I might buy something, but from what I’ve seen thus far, only the blazers look like they’d fall into my style range.
