Hi, I’m going to be a freshman, and I just found out that I’ll be in a triple room. However, it’s actually a double converted to a triple, because apparently our class is HUGE. So no chance for bed risers, because the room consists of a bunk bed on one end and a lofted bed on the other. There is next to no space for anything! How can I deal with this situation? I don’t want to cut down on the clothes I want to bring!

I would reccommend getting stuff that won’t break super easily and that you wouldn’t hate using for a few years after college. Chances are (sorry to break it to you) you will be rather poor for a couple of years after you get out of school. Not that it has to be super-serious, just maybe don’t go after the latest trends on this stuff.

If you and your roommates have got too much stuff, you can always get together and store some of it. There’s a summer special for college students at http://www.doortodoor.com/collegepromo/. They bring a container to your street or parking area, you put your stuff in, and then they take it to storage for you.
