Thank you for posting this. Christmas is one of my favorite seasons because it’s a very giving holiday. However, the deed certainly shouldn’t stop there. It’s merely a stepping stone and I’m always looking for new ways to volunteer…

I was happy to volunteer by serving Christmas dinner to sixty families for the Salvation Army this year.

Great article. Its always so rewarding to give. I think knowing you just helped someone else, it’s its own reward.
I always try to help and give as much as possible. Before I moved, I checked my closet to find all the clothes I didn’t want but were still good, and I donated it to a goodwill.

I’m an advocate for volunteering as well and I’m glad to have read this post. There needs to be more posts like this on the interweb, especially during this time of the year.

Great article! I’m a big believer in volunteering, as I have been helping out in schools since I was a little kid. Volunteering is very rewarding and satisfying and definitely something eveyone should be involved in.

I think this is a great post! Instead of returning any items I didn’t like or already had, I always give them away to those in need because I know they need it more than I do.

I definitely think it’s important to make someone happy everyday. If you do, I believe you will be happier yourself. A simple rule of thumb is to do something nice everyday…I, personally, like to compliment people. Who doesn’t like a good compliment, right?

Hi Michelle –

I love your write-up on giving! What great ideas to continue to the season by giving items we received from holiday gift-giving that we don’t necessarily want or getting rid of items to make room for the new items we received. I know that my closet can use a little “cleaning”–there are items in there I haven’t worn in ages.

I will also be donating from my online fashion boutique, Muito Fina. We will begin donating items that have not sold well on the store to a woman’s organization, Dress for Success.
