These trends are taking nail art to the next level!

Today's topic is Nail Trends for Summer 2016! Manicures and pedicures this season are minimal, but very compelling. This year I have seen an interesting array of trends and styles in the nail department that defy the classic nude or red, and that's why I've decided to share. Let's talk trendy tips:

1. Metallic

Metallic fabrics are in for summer so it's only natural that nails would follow suit. As with metallic clothing, metallic nails act as a neutral so they go with just about everything. A metallic sheen is a subtle way to add some glam to your basic mani.

2. Along the Lines of French

Half moon manicures have been trending for a few seasons now and they're getting even more fun this summer with the addition of some fun extras like painted tips à la photo 1 above.

French manicures are also super hot right now, but with a twist. The trendiest way to wear this look is to use neutral tones like black and white à la photo 2 above. We also love it with nude and a bright color as seen at Monique Lhuillier Spring 2016 - so fresh and fun!

3. Geometric

Modern girls, this is the trend for you: Sleek lines and unique shapes are the hottest trend in nail art. We've talked about how to do a geometric manicure before (basically, just paint one layer, wait for it to dry, apply scotch tape to the areas you want masked, paint again and peel off the tape when dry), so stock up on the tape and get painting!

4. Color Pop

Although this last one isn't a new trend, I couldn't leave it out because it's going to be trending hard. As usual, bold, eye-catching colors are the top nail trend for summer. There's no better time than the warm months to rock a bold-hued mani, so go for it with Summer 2016 nail colors like coral or bold lavender.
