I love this site! Thanks so much for this! I live in Philly and am going to Northeastern University up in Boston next year, so basically the winter is and will be overruling my life.

I have awfully dry skin and I SWEAR by Cetaphil. My dermatologist recommended it to me a few years back and I have no stopped using it since. It feels a bit oily at first but after a few minutes, your skin feels fabulous! For a small tub, it's $8. Definately worth every cent!

IMPORTANT: some chapsticks (including all made by the Chapstick brand) stop your lips from producing natural moisture. I'm a trumpet player and I constantly have to worry about my lips so I'm all too familiar with the problem. If a chapstick has Phenol in it, don't get it! You'll pretty much become "addicted" to it and need to apply it more than you should.

Some great options: Nivea "moisture stick" and Burt's Bee's anything

Great post! I absolutely agree with you on the Eucerin and Vaseline lotion. My mother has been using it for ages, and her skin looks so young (Eucerin)! I also put the petroleum jelly Vaseline on my lips and it helps!

I live in Florida so it's never too cold or dry, but my lips do get chapped easily. I use Burt's Bees chapstick in passion fruit w/ SPF, love it!

Probably the best body moisturizer I know of is baby lotion. It gets rid of my dry patches immediately, it smells great, and it's no problem for sensitive skin.

Thank you soooo much for the post! I definitely have to comment on the get enough sleep and drink water part - they make suuuuch a difference!
What I've been using right now is the dual action moisturizer from clean & clear, it moisturizes skin and helps prevent breakouts at the same time, and even though it may sound crazy boooy does it work! My skin feels super soft and I have 0 zits at the momment, so I totally recommend it. My best tip for lips is to use to slip a cream called Bepanthen...it's normally used for sunburn, minor burns and bruises... but it's the best thing for lips, any cracked lip will awake super soft the next morning. It's sort of a mess to sleep with and very thick, but it absorbs sort of quick and it's so worth it the next morning!
For chapstick, Burt's Bees soothing, cooling and refreshing.
